I have a Canon IXUS 860 IS, the NB-5L Li I would use to buy a spare battery, but I think the original is too expensive. If I purchase (), the generic half, is that right?

  1. After the responsibility for checking the battery and quality in a large retail chain, I would say it is probably very good with a good quality generic battery.

You can get large variations in performance between a brand and another, especially with the use of cameras, especially when flash is used frequently.

Two batteries are identical and were designed for completely different applications. I had a case where a battery-shaped and was branded as a device, battery (high current short-term) for the gas development (low constant current) and the results were surprisingly bad. It was then redesigned for our application.

Digital cameras are especially sensitive to the battery voltage, which changes as the battery discharges, some cells are better to take the maintenance of tension over this threshold and more, even if they have the same power rating than others.

The reason hardware manufacturers recommend specific brands of battery can only know that she that she is going to work, it is impossible to cHeck, each brand of each device.

Beware of any type of lithium battery, the results of violence very dramatic. Lithium is a highly reactive metal.
Most are equipped with a safety device, but all these devices do not work when you need it. Make sure that you are a famous brand of good quality.
